Hi.

As you know I'm renting server on Linux. Current settings are:
CPU - 2 x 2.5 Ghz
RAM - 3000 mb
HD - 30 GB

Current PERFORMANCE:
CPU - 30 - 50% usage
RAM - 900 mb usage

I would like to do whatever I can to make smaller pings and less performance "lags", but next package for me is like 230% more expensive, and I would not even use RAM / HD. I of course contacted with my service, and they said they can upgrade only CPU for me.

What do you think would work better for Rust server?
a) Upgrading cores + Clock: 4 x 3 Ghz
b) Or just upgrading Clock: 2 x 3 Ghz

I know that not every applications can use power of multiple cores, and I don't know if it's good for me to pay for 4 cores instead of 2.

What type of CPU is it?

I'm not sure but looks like it's Intel Xeon E3-1240 V2, now set with limit to 2 cores and 2.5 Ghz.

And I can choose to get more cores (and clock) or just a clock. Server is small, up to 25 players, and we didn't hit limit yet in history. Max was 19 if I remember.

Should be fine how it already is, But I guess more cores would be better over more Ghz

Rust only uses 1GB ram, but if you want to increase the server's fps and the sendrate (Which will make the server perform better, but will eat more cpu) You should update the cores too.
